Film Synopsis
A Coens Brothers adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy classic
for a Hollywood film however it was funded by miramax
No Country for Old Men, is based in the Crime-Fuelled times of the 1980s, Texas is the homeland for this Suspenseful Thriller. It stars a Psychopathic Killer Thirsty for cash, the only
person in his way is a Struggling Welder who happens to be at the scene to Yank the cash from a Drug dealing Exchange gone Horribly wrong. This High speed chase leaves veteran Sheriff Tom Bell, slightly behind. As Moss tries to out run the ruthless killer, he leaves a trail of bodies behind. Throughout Ed Tom Bell tries to convince Moss, mostly through his wife Carla Jean, that he should turn the money over to the authorities or this could all end in tragedy.

Production
The film budget came up to $25million slightly low
in association with paramount vantage so it is considered a mainstream film.
The main production companies are Miramax and Paramount Vantage have produced several successful films such has "13, Capitalism: A love Story, There will be blood, Into the Wild and several more.

Distribution
The main Theatrical Distributional companies were Paramount, Foreign United International Pictures, Universal Pictures International, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International, Prooptiki Romania, Paramount Pictures International, Paramount Vantage, B and H, Forumcinemas, Karantanija, Lusomundo , who distributed the film to 6 countries( Brazil, USA, UK, Estonia, Australia, Philippines), It managed to produce more money in the United Kingdom than its home country. A difference of 30,850 dollars. The home distributional company was Miramax Home Entertainment they managed to distribute in to mainly westernized Countries, Uk and the USA receiving the most because of Interactive television servicesy
(Sky).

Exhibition

The box office takings for No Country Old men managed to bring a Staggering $162,113,329 Dollars world wide, beating the Worldwide average by 62 million, an incredible amount. I would expect this film to be shown in Romford Vue has it exceeded box office takings which proves itself worthy for a Local UK Cinema. There are several different method of home exhibition for the Film, such has DVD, Video, Blu Ray. The most popular being Interactive Television service which provides you with Near On demand, so you cant exactly choose when you want to view the film, but you can enjoy good movies in the comfort of your own home, without moving.

Horizontal and Vertical Integration

The film is a vertical integration of Paramount, this is proven by paramount taking charge of most of the Distributional companies, and Paramount Provided most of the Funds for the Film, meaning Miramax being Subsidary of Paramount. The signs between Paramount and the Distributing companies proving to be horizontally integration is unlikely has most of the distributing companies were subsidiaries of Paramount. Overall the Film was a mixture of Both Horizontal and vertical Integration.
